The custom, when a fisherman retired, was to take his boat ashore with him. It was considered unlucky to use another man's boat - but that was before the days of 60 foot diesel boats with gallows and gantries and wheelhouses perched on top.
Didn't know this old gent personally, but he was too good to miss, so just took a sneaky picture on the plaza, and zoomed off. I decided later to put him in an old boat.
